Getting to and around Bournemouth and Poole
Getting to and around the beautiful coastal towns of Bournemouth and Poole couldn’t be easier. This is our handy guide to getting here and getting about during the UK Dance Showcase.
Bournemouth and Southampton airports are a short distance from both venues. We recommend using comparison sites such as Skyscanner to find the best priced flight from your destination.
Catching a train
Bournemouth Railway station is a 20 minute walk to Pavilion Dance South West. There are regular trains from London Waterloo, Manchester Piccadilly via Coventry, Oxford, Stoke on Trent and Birmingham New Street.
Poole Railway station is a 10 minute walk to the Lighthouse. Trains run regularly from London Waterloo and Weymouth. If you’re coming from the midlands or north of England, you’ll need to change at Bournemouth.

The coach station in Bournemouth is situated at the railway station. National Express run services to Bournemouth from all over the UK.
Driving and car pooling
If you’re planning to drive to the UK Dance Showcase, the main venues are Pavilion Dance South West in Bournemouth (BH1 2BU for sat nav) and Lighthouse in Poole (BH15 1UG got sat nav).

Like most cities, parking in Bournemouth and Poole can be a challenge. We recommend booking a hotel that offers parking and walking to your venues where possible.
The closest car park to Pavilion Dance South West is called Central Car Park is approximately 5 minutes from Pavilion Dance South West. To park there for a whole day costs £5.50.
In Poole, parking is available at the Dolphin Shopping Centre for £2 for two hours. The shopping centre is 3 minutes walk to the Lighthouse.

Getting around during the UK Dance Showcase
The main bus operator between Bournemouth and Poole is PlusBus (advertised as MoreBus). Buses stop on Westover Road (opposite Pavilion Theatre) in Bournemouth and take approx 43 minutes to get to the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole. An adult day ticket costs £4. Take routes M1 or M2.
