Surf Generator Seed Support: Robbie Synge
Surf The Wave are offering Robbie Synge with Dance North and Lyth Arts Centre £5,000 Seed Support to invest in Forest Village.
‘Forest Village’ is a project based in the village of Nethy Bridge, Cairngorms, where Robbie Synge lives. The project will test a model of working with programmers Dance North (Findhorn) and Lyth Arts Centre (Caithness), to share experience and resources through mentoring and therefore extending reach and impact of activity.
Through a film-making project involving participatory workshops with different groups and individuals and a filming and editing period involving a residency for a film-maker collaborator, ‘Forest Village’ will allow Robbie to work locally, building relationships with the community and an audience for dance activity. The film will be premiered within a local ceilidh event and potentially help future communication to attract artists to small residencies, engaging with the people and place.
